Doctoral Mentoring Program

MATES 2005 intends to include a doctoral mentoring program, aimed at PhD students in advanced stages of their research. This program will provide an opportunity for students to interact closely with established researchers in their fields, to receive feedback on their work and to get advice on managing their careers.

MATES/CIA 2005 Best Paper Award

The MATES 2005 conference and CIA 2005 workshop jointly issue a Best Paper Award.

CIA 2005 System Innovation Award

The incorporated CIA 2005 event issues a System Innovation Award to acknowledge highly innovative development of intelligent information agents, and agent-based information systems.
This award is sponsored by Whitestein Technologies.

MATES 2005 Student Travel Grants

The European Coordination Action for Agent-Based Computing (AgentLink III) provides limited financial support to limited number of students who are co-authors of accepted papers to give their presentation at the MATES 2005 conference.

Only citizens of the European Union and associated countries are eligible to apply.

In order to apply for one MATES 2005 student travel grant, please send following information via email to klusch@dfki.de until July 18, 2005, 6pm Berlin.

- Full name, address, and affiliation
- Full name and email address of PhD/Master thesis advisor
or fax student ID card copy to +49-302-2235
attn. MATES 2005, Dr. Matthias Klusch
- Title of accepted paper to present at MATES 2005 conference
- Amount of financial support needed (not exceeding 250 euros)
- Brief justification of claim (rough travel cost breakdown)

All expense claims have to be handled by the grant holder directly with AgentLink right after the conference took place (within one month), and on the basis of original receipts only.
Advice on how to claim for reimbursement of travel expenses up to the amount granted will be provided to the grant holder by Matthias Klusch klusch@dfki.de
